Use

You can carry out this step if you are using the account solution to depict parallel accounting.

If you do not want make closing entries using the standard accounts that are automatically selected by material account determination, create alternative accounts in this activity.

Requirements

In Customizing of Materials Management you have set up the material account determination for the relevant areas under Configure Automatic Postings. In Financial Accounting Customizing you have defined the relevant accounting principles and assigned them to the appropriate ledger groups (in the basic settings of Financial Accounting (New) under Define Accounting Principles and Assign Accounting Principle to Ledger Groups).

Standard settings

In the standard delivery, account determination is made using materials management account determination.

Activities

If you want to make the closing entries for the multiple valuation on different accounts, proceed as follows:

  1. Select a chart of accounts.
  2. Enter a relevant accounting principle for the parallel cost of goods manufactured.
  3. Enter the account on which the closing entry from the material ledger is usually updated.
  4. Enter the alternative account on which the closing entry is to be updated for the multiple valuation of the cost of goods manufactured.
  5. Save your settings.
