Requirements

This customizing activity is needed if the following preconditions are valid:

You plan to use a BO (legacy) search object connector.

Standard settings

Recommendation

The following settings must apply to the system only for the period during which you connect the back-end system to SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search (connectivity creation). As soon as you have completed this, you can revert to the previous settings.

Activities

  1. Log on to the client of the back-end system that you have chosen for the connection between Enterprise Search and the back-end system for the BO (legacy) search.
  2. Start transaction SE03.
  3. In the Administration section, open the entry Set System Change Option.
  4. In the Namespace/Name Range table, search under Business Information Warehouse: SAP namespace for the /BIC/ prefix and set it to Modifiable.
  5. Start transaction SCC4.
  6. Choose the client to be used. Note the following scenarios:
    • If the Enterprise Search system runs in exactly one client, choose this client and configure the following settings for this client.
    • If the Enterprise Search System runs in more than one client, you must decide which client the connectors of the type BO (legacy) search are to be created in. This is because you can create BO (legacy) search connectors in one client only.
  7. Choose the following setting for the client to be used:
    • Changes and Transports for Client-Specific Objects: Automatic recording of changes
    • Cross-Client Object Changes: Changes to Repository and cross-client Customizing allowed

After you have worked through the steps in the back-end system, you repeat steps 2-7 on the Enterprise Search system for the client that is used for the BO (legacy) search connectors.
