Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the statuses that you can assign to an individual phrase item. You can, however, also use phrase management without status assignment.
For each status you can define whether a phrase item with this status can be:
- Edited
- Output on a report (see PhSymExpan indicator)
- Used for specification value assignment without a warning being issued (see Warning indicator)
- Changed to another status
Standard settings
Standard settings are delivered, for example:
- 01 (In process): You may edit the phrase item and change to another status. The content of the phrase item is not expanded on reports.
- 02 (External processing): The phrase item has been exported. You cannot edit the phrase item, but the status can be changed. The content of the phrase item is not expanded on reports.
- 03 (Released): The phrase item is released. You cannot edit the phrase item, but the status can be changed. The content of the phrase item is output on reports.
- 04 (Historical): The phrase item is historical. You cannot edit the phrase item and the status cannot be changed. The content of the phrase item is output on reports.
Activities
- Call the IMG activity.
- Check the phrase statuses and define others if necessary.
Further notes
When you execute phrase import and export, you can set the Phrase item status indicator to transfer the phrase item status in each case when importing from the import file and when exporting from the SAP system. You can set default values for the indicator in the IMG activity Specify Exchange Profiles.

If you have set the Phrase status on the screen for phrase import or phrase export, you can additionally specify a status for each language using the language selection function.
- Phrase import:
In phrase import, the phrase status specified in language selection is imported, and not the phrase status from the file.
- Phrase export:
In phrase export, the phrase status specified in language selection is exported, and not the phrase status from the SAP System. This new status is simultaneously set for the relevant language item in the SAP System.
Note:
You must make sure that only the permitted statuses are specified in language selection.
