Use

If you want to extract data from specification management into the Business Information Warehouse (BW), you must make the following settings in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools as described below.

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

IMG Activity Specify Environment Parameters

  • Environment parameter BW_LANGUAGE_GET

For language-dependent fields, specify the languages to be extracted into BW. This setting is relevant for DataSources that extract texts.

In the standard system, the languages English and German are extracted. If the environment parameter does not have a value, the system extracts texts by default in the logon language of the user.

The entries in the selection criteria for the environment parameter must have the following form:

    • Sel: Enter the respective sort number.
    • Field name: LANGU
    • I/E: I
    • Sel. opt.: EQ
    • Lower limit: Specify the language to be extracted, for example, FR for French.
  • Environment parameter BW_COMPOSITION_GET

If you want the composition of a specification to be taken into account when determining the relationship between materials and specifications, you must specify which value assignment type you want the composition to be read from. This setting is relevant for the DataSource 0EHS_SPEC_MAT.

In the standard system, the value assignment type SAP_EHS_1012_003 (Standard composition) is set as the default.

  • Environment parameter BW_SPEC_MD_DETERMINE

Specify which specification properties are to be extracted. This setting is relevant for the DataSource 0EHS_SPEC_ATTR.

Specify the selection criteria as follows:

    • Sel: Enter the respective sort number.
    • Field name: ESE_BW_WGK
    • I/E: I
    • Sel. Opt.: EQ
    • Lower limit: SAP_EHS_1023_009; SAP_EHS_1023_009_HAZARD_CLASS

Default settings are supplied for the following properties:

    • Water pollution class (field name ESE_BW_WGK)
    • Storage class according to VCI (field name ESE_BW_VCI)
    • Combustible liquids danger class (field name ESE_BW_VBF)
    • R phrases (field names ESE_BW_R01 to ESE_BW_R05)

If necessary, change the entries in the Lower limit column in the selection options for the environment parameter. Note that you must enter the key for the value assignment type first and then the key for the characteristic (characteristic name) from which the values are to be read. The keys must be separated by a semicolon.

The fields in the properties delivered have a length of 21 characters. The phrase key for them is transferred from the field ATWRT of the characteristic value. If you change the selection options of the default properties, a maximum of 21 characters is transferred for the values.

If you want to extract other properties, you must extend the structure RCG_BW_SPEC_MD and set BW_SPEC_MD_DETERMINE accordingly.

The field ATWRT (field length 30) is extracted from the characteristic values. This means you can only append those fields to the structure that have a maximum length of 30 characters.

  • Environment parameter BW_SPEC_USAGE

Specify which usage is to be taken into account for the properties and the composition. This setting is relevant for the DataSources 0EHS_SPEC_ATTR and 0EHS_SPEC_MAT.

Specify the selection criteria as follows:

    • Sel: Enter the respective sort number.
    • Field name: VACLID
    • I/E: I
    • Sel. Opt.: EQ
    • Lower limit: PUBLIC

In the standard system, the following usage is extracted:

    • Rating: PUBLIC
    • Validity area: REG_WORLD

IMG Activity Check Identification Listing

In the identification listing D_BW, specify which identifiers are to be extracted into BW. This setting is relevant for the DataSource 0EHS_SPEC_TEXT.

Default settings are supplied. The following output lengths are assigned to the positions 1-3 in BW:

Position    Output Length

1 (short)    CHAR 20

2 (middle)    CHAR 40

3 (long)    CHAR 60

If an identifier has more characters than listed above, the character string is truncated at the end when it is output in BW.

If a number of values exist for an identification category and an identification type, the value is extracted that was determined first.

If no settings are available for D_BW, the standard listing for identifiers (D_DEFAULT) is used for extraction.

IMG Activity Manage User Exits

You can create enhancements for the following functions:

  • Determine the ratio between specification and material

This user exit is relevant for the DataSource 0EHS_SPEC_MAT.

User exit category and name: BW_SPECMAT

    Reference function module: C1M0_BW01_PROPORT_SPEC_MAT_GET

  • Filter specification master data

This user exit is relevant for the 0EHS_SPEC_ATTR.

User exit category and name: BW_SP_PICK

    Reference function module: C1M0_BW01_SPEC_MD_PICK
