Use
In this IMG activity you set up the EH&S management server for EH&S service administration on your server PC.
As well as communication with the SAP system, the EH&S management server also takes over the automatic starting of services if errors occur.
Requirements
To create and delete services, and to start and stop services, you generally need local administrator rights under Windows. You should therefore install the EH&S management server under an administrator account. Otherwise, you can perform only very limited functions in EH&S service administration.
Standard settings
Activities
- You will find the installation program on the current SAP Server Components CD. Execute the installation program and follow the user instructions.
Note:
You can also install the WWI generation server and the EH&S Expert server at the same time using the installation program.You enter the following installation parameters:
Parameter Example Description
Directory C:\Program Files\Ehs Installation directory
User name .\LocalAdmin User name of an administrator under which the WWI generation server services are to run. The parameter is queried only if the WWI generation server is also installed.
Password User password. The parameter is queried only if the WWI generation server is also installed.
Base directory for WWI root C:\Program Files\Ehs\WWI Directory under which the root directories for WWI generation servers are stored. The parameter is queried only if the WWI generation server is also installed.
Note:
If you want to create an EH&S management server for one or more SAP systems, you can enter the parameters for the SAPRFC.INI file during installation using the program Notepad.
To do this, adapt the following entries:
- DEST: Enter any identifier, for example:
DEST=EHS_MGMT_XYZ - PROGID: Enter any identifier, for example:
PROGID=EHS_MGMT_XYZ
This entry (program identification) must be made in the SAP system when defining the Remote Function Call (RFC) destination. The entry can be chosen to be identical to the entry for DEST, see Set Up RFC Destination. - TYPE: Enter the following:
TYPE=R
R stands for registering RFC connection. This means that the EH&S management server registers itself in the network. - GWHOST: Enter the application server under which your generation server should be registered. The complete router string with application server must be entered, for example:
GWHOST=/H/mum18/H/hstd01. - You determine the application server and router string by selecting your system in the SAP Logon window and then choosing Properties.
- GWSERV: Enter the name of the gateway service that is available on the GWHOST.
- You determine the gateway service by selecting your system in the SAP Logon window and then choosing Properties. The name is made up of sapgw and the system number, for example:
GWSERV=sapgw02
Note:
Follow the pattern of upper and lower case letters as it is given here. - MANAGED: Enter the following:
MANAGED=1
This marks the entry as an EH&S management server.Repeat these steps for other SAP systems.
With these installation parameters, a service is created with the Startup type Automatic and is started.
- In the SAP system, a logical TCP/IP destination must be created that uses the program ID EHS_MGMT_XYZ, see the IMG activity Set Up RFC Destination.
- It may be necessary to restart your computer following the installation.
- After installation you can start and stop the service using Windows Services.
- To register an EH&S management server in another SAP system subsequently, the following steps are required:
- Enter the new destination in the SAPRFC.INI of the server PC as described above.
- Restart the EH&S management server (locally or from the SAP system using EH&S service administration).
Further Notes:
Note the following if you have installed WWI generation servers via EH&S service administration:
If a number of synchronous servers are to be set up on different server PCs for one destination for performance reasons or to safeguard against downtimes, note that the WWI root directory is made the same on all PCs during setup.
