Use
In specification management in the SAP Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) component, you can specify validity areas for the hazardous substance data, that is you can, for example, specify for a value assignment instance in which country, region, or organizational unit the hazardous substance data is valid.
In this IMG activity, you specify the priorities for these validity areas for the filling of the hazardous substance master. This means you specify which value assignment instance the system is to use for filling if a value assignment type contains several value assignment instances with different validity areas. The system uses the instance with the validity area to which you assigned the lowest priority number in this IMG activity. When you create an entry for a validity area in which you do not specify a priority, the system uses the priority 0, which means that this validity area has priority over all other validity areas during filling. If you do not create an entry for a validity area in this IMG activity, the system does not take into account value assignment instances with this validity area when filling.
In filling, the system creates a data record for each country and region that you specified under Assign Countries and Regions to Warehouse Numbers. In this IMG activity, you must therefore specify a country and a region for each entry. This means you are able to assign different priorities for the countries and regions in which your hazardous substance warehouses are located. If you do not assign a country or region to an entry, the system ignores this entry.
Caution:
If you do not create an entry in this IMG activity for a country or region from the IMG activity Assign Countries and Regions to Warehouse Numbers, no data record is created for this country or region in filling.
Requirements
- You have processed the IMG activity Assign Countries and Regions to Warehouse Numbers.
- You have specified validity area categories and validity areas in Customizing for Specification Management under Specify Validity Area Categories and Specify Validity Areas.
Example
You want the system to use the data with the validity area FR (France) in preference to the data with the validity area REG_EU (European Union) when filling the data for the hazardous substance warehouse in France. You therefore create the following entries in this IMG activity:
