In this IMG activity, you specify the values of the environment parameter for the bill of material transfer. Assigning these values is prerequisite for this transfer.

You use the environment parameters to control how the new composition is to be created for a specification. If required, you can define several data records for an environment parameter and specify conditions for each data record according to which the respective data record is to be used.

A data record can always be uniquely identified with the Environment parameter and Sort sequence fields.

You can use the sort sequences to specify the ascending order according to which the conditions are checked.

Example

The SAP System assigns the authorization group for the specification that it creates for the bill of material transfer depending on the material number:

You therefore define the following environment parameters and values for the following sort sequences:

The following conditions are created for data records (DR) 1 and 2:

This results in the following:

  • A specification with the authorization group ALL is created for each material number that begins with "B".
  • A specification with the authorization group COLOR is created for each material number that begins with "T".
  • No specification is created for material numbers that neither begin with "B" nor with "T". The user can remove these from the log.

If required you can define a third data record and define it without a condition:

The system checks the conditions in the sequence that is specified through the sort sequence. So, if a material number begins with neither "B" nor "T", a new specification is created with the authorization group TEST.

Activities

  1. Call the IMG activity.
  2. Assign the values to the environment parameters BOMBOS_* according to your requirements, for example:
    • BOMBOS_AUTHGRP
      • Authorization group for the specification that is newly created by the SAP System and for which the composition is generated from the bill of material.
    • BOMBOS_CMP_USAGE
      • Usage profile for which the data record with the new composition is created in value assignment.
    • BOMBOS_COMP
      • Value assignment type that is used for the new composition created by the SAP System.
    • BOMBOS_COMPCAT
      • Component type to which the components of the composition are assigned.
    • BOMBOS_DEL_DATE
      • Number of days after which the log is deleted. If you do not enter a value, the log is deleted after 30 days.
    • BOMBOS_OWNID
      • Data provider of the new data record. Enter the address number of the data provider and fill this field by adding zeros to the start of the number to achieve a total of 10 digits (for example, 0000012345 instead of 12345).
      You create the data provider in EH&S Address Management.

Note:

You can determine the address number of the data provider in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools in the IMG activity Specify Authorization Groups. To do this, call the input help for the Data prov. field in the IMG activity. You will find the value you require in the Addr. no. field. The address number is not displayed in address management in the Product Safety component.

  • BOMBOS_SRSID
    • Data origin of the new data record. You define the data origin in the IMG activity Specify Data Origin.
  • BOMBOS_SUBCAT
    • Specification type of the specification that was newly created by the SAP System and for which the composition is generated from the bill of material.
  • BOMBOS_WL_DIALOG
    • Controls whether the worklist is to be displayed for manual processing. If the bill of material is to be transferred automatically, delete this environment parameter.

Note:
To define conditions for an environment parameter, place the cursor on the environment parameter and choose Selection Criteria for Environment Parameters.
