Use

In this activity, you can define control parameters for SAP Easy Document Management and assign users to user groups.

You can define defaults for the following parameters:

  • AUTH_VISIBLE         Visibility of documents in the structure

    Even if no authorization is defined for a user group, the system can still display document info records (DIRs), but without content. Only the document key is visible.

  • THUMB_WSAPPL         Workstation application for thumbnails

    The system uses this workstation application to display the image for the DIR.

  • THUMB_IT            Image type for the thumbnail

    The image type of the thumbnail is not currently functional. SAP Easy Document Management can only create images of type bmp.

  • THUMB_DESCR        Description of thumbnail

    The description of the thumbnail is visible in the document info record (DIR) when processing a document in document management (CA-DMS).

  • THUMB_W            Output width of thumbnail
  • THUMB_H            Output height of thumbnail

Requirements

You have defined workstation applications for thumbnails.

Standard settings

All "THUMB" parameters define how thumbnails are created in SAP Easy Document Management.

  • If you have defined parameter THUMB_WSAPPL (workstation application for thumbnails) and this workstation application exists, the system creates a thumbnail on check-in (parameter THUMB_IT).

    SAP Easy Document Management can check in the thumbnail as a second original.

  • If you have not defined parameter THUMB_WSAPPL for a user group, the system uses the default value THU as the workstation application for thumbnails. You must have defined this workstation application beforehand.

Activities

To make document info records visible to users without authorization, proceed as follows:

  1. If you have not yet defined a user group, create one.
    1. To do this, choose User Group in the structure, then create New Entries.
    2. Assign users and/or roles to the user group.
  2. Define the parameters for your user group.
    1. Place the cursor on the user group.
    2. In the structure, choose Parameters then New Entries.
    3. Select a parameter and define a value.
  3. Save your entries.
