Use
In this IMG activity, you can group existing Units of Measurement (UoM) to share the common Global Trade Item Number (GTIN).
In certain situations, common materials are shared by various business markets, which use different UoM (for example, weight unit, volume unit, and dimension unit). To define their UoM, one business market may follow the metric system and another may use the imperial system. A metric UoM is therefore the alternate UoM (AUoM) for an imperial UoM, and vice versa.
As a result, even though both business markets use the same GTIN, each maintains the GTIN data for their own UoM. If the various UoM have different values of net weight, gross weight, volume, length, width and height, the consistency check function does not allow you to use the UoM to share the same GTIN and GTIN variant combination.
You can overcome this situation by grouping the AUoM. You can then share a GTIN and GTIN variant combination between various UoM having different values of net weight, gross weight, volume, length, width, and height in the material master.

You must ensure that each UoM is assigned only to one UoM group.
- Enter the group name and unit of measure.
- Choose Save.
