Use
In this IMG activity, you maintain an access sequence, which is a search strategy used by the SAP system to search for condition records that are valid for a condition type. The access sequence refers to the fields for Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) mapping through the condition tables that it contains.
Requirements
You have verified that a condition table, which is either customer-specific or has been delivered by SAP, is available for all required field combinations.
Standard settings
Activities
Check if you can use the access sequences that are available in the standard system. If not, then create a new access sequence as described below.
Note
Do not change standard access sequences delivered by SAP. If you define your own access sequence, then begin its name with the letters Y or Z; SAP reserves these letters for customers.
- Create a new access sequence, or copy a similar access sequence and change it according to your requirements.
- Specify the following for the new access sequence:
- An alphanumeric name that is up to four characters in length and begins as specified above
- A textual description of the access sequence
- Define the access and priority for the access sequence. To do this, enter the condition tables in the desired sequence. If you specify the access type of any fields as A (which represents field in free key part), then you must also assign a unique priority to each of these field.
- Choose Save.
Example
In the standard access sequence G001, the access to table 020 uses access type A for the fields - VKORG (Sales Organization), VTWEG (Distribution Channel), SPART (Division), LAND1 (Country of Destination), and KUNNR (Customer). Furthermore, the field KUNNR has priority 1 and LAND1 has priority 2.
From the above, it is evident that KUNNR has a higher priority than LAND1. Therefore, if several condition records occur for a certain GTIN, the system considers the customer-specific (KUNNR) condition records before the country-specific condition records for the GTIN mapping.
Note
- If various key combinations (condition tables) are used in an access sequence or if various condition types are used in the determination procedure, GTIN mapping stops as soon as any one of these accesses is successful.
- If several condition records are found for the same access, the system uses the condition record with the highest priority.
