Use
In the following activities, you customize the system so that at company code level, it automatically generates and assigns official document numbers to billing documents, vendor credit memos, and accounting documents.

Example
Assume that you want the system to automatically number billing documents and outgoing invoices for normal goods. In this case, you make the following settings:

Maintain Document Classes Create document class NOR for outgoing invoices.
Assign Document Classes to Document Types Assign document class NOR to document type DR, and specify Generate Official Document Number, without date control.
Maintain Number Groups Create a number group.
Maintain Number Ranges Create a number range 01 for each of the number group you created.
Assign Number Ranges to Document Class/Number Group/Date Assign each of the number ranges to the relevant company code for each of the combinations of document class, number group, and date range.
