Use
In this activity, you check the settings provided by SAP for controlling the process flow of the extraction program. Normally changes and additions are not required here. If you make any changes, this represents a customer modification of the system. Changing these settings is required only as the result of a concrete SAP Note for correcting an error, or if there is an extension of the extraction scope that is provided by SAP.
Requirements
Standard settings
The settings that are provided are described below:
- Sequence
This number specifies the sequence of the extraction of segments. Generally the sequence is not important. However, if there are dependencies due to the technical implementations of the assigned selection modules, it is important to ensure the correct sequence.
- Segment Name
The name specifies which segment is to be extracted according to the sequence.
- Active
A segment is extracted only if it is active.
- Selection Module
The selection module contains the implementation of the extraction. In many cases, a generic selection module can be used, which does not contain any segment-specific selection and formatting of the data. However, if an individual extraction logic is needed for a segment, then this logic must be implemented in a separate selection module.
- Always
In certain cases, it might be necessary for a segment to be processed, even if it was deselected due to the selection parameters in the extraction program. This indicator is set in cases of this kind.
- Processing Module
In exceptional cases, a processing module is entered in addition to the selection module. This processing module is for individual postprocessing of the extracted data.
