Control STEP processor
Example
In this activity, you cumulate the data that is to be transferred to the STEP processor.
Requirements
You have maintained the mapping context for the transformation scenario.
See: Set up model for semantic mapping
You have maintained the RFC destination for the STEP server.
Transaction code: SM59 Create and maintain RFC destinations
Standard settings
Two exchange profiles are delivered to the SAP System that take into consideration all objects that can be imported or exported into or out of the SAP System via the SAP STEP interface. The extra parameters for all fields that can be exchanged for the current development status are maintained in these profiles.
- 00000001 - Maximum exchange with Product Variant Structure (PVS)
- 00000002 - Maximum exchange without PVS
Recommendation
To have better control of the data transformation you should only enter fields for an object (such as document) in a profile.
Activities
- In the navigation step Exchange profile you determine for which objects data is exported or imported.
- For the export of document data you set, for example, the indicator Export: documents and the indicator for the listed document data (such as Export: administrative data for a document).
- Enter a mapping context ID.
- In the navigation step Additional parameters you detail how a field is exported or imported.
Information about the extra parameters for the fields to be transferred is contained in the delivered profiles.
If, for example, you maintain a profile for the export of document data, you create additional parameters for the following fields: release status, labororatory and user.
- In the navigation step Define RFC server you enter the technical data necessary for communication between the SAP System and the STEP server.
