Use

The Blueprint Application Builder (BAB) enables you to adapt the layout of an application to suit your requirements. You can:

  • Rearrange fields within a tab page, hide fields, and group fields by using frames
  • Add fields from a specified field structure
  • Change the sequence of tab pages, and hide tab pages
  • Change the sequence of buttons in a toolbar, and hide buttons

The BAB also enables you to replace field groups, toolbar groups, and tab page groups with others.

Requirements

The CRM Designer must be installed locally on your PC.

Standard settings

Activities

After starting the Blueprint Application Builder, choose the application to be adjusted, and, optionally, a view, and press "Load Application".

To be able to transport your changes to a downstream system, you must enter a transport request (in the "Save" frame). If you do not yet have one, you can also create one by using a button.

Now navigate in the preview window within the CRM application so that the object to be adjusted (toolbar, tab page and so on) is displayed. In the left-hand area of the screen, choose the screen area where the change is to be made and press the "Designer" button. The system starts the Designer, in which you can make your layout adjustments. If you save there, your adjustments are copied to the CRM system and are visible the next time the CRM application is started.

Example

Note

Whereas layout adjustments made with the Designer are not critical, you should only replace field groups, and toolbar- or tabstrip groups if you have detailed knowledge of the respective application and can judge the consequences of making the change.
