This section describes which process instruction characteristics you have to assign when defining process instruction categories of the type inspection results request for SAP PI sheets.

In an inspection results request, you only need to specify the operations and phases for which you want to record inspection results.

Assign the following characteristics to suit your requirements:

Characteristic        Meaning        Allowed values

PPPI_OPERATION        operation number        number of the operation

                to be checked

PPPI_PHASE        phase number        number of the phase to

                be checked

Both characteristics can be used several times in an inspection results request.

When you create a process instruction, the characteristics of the process instruction category are copied to the process instruction. You can, however, change or delete the characteristic assignments in the process instruction.

The characteristic values can be assigned automatically in the process order.

Standard settings

The standard system contains examples of inspection results requests for SAP PI sheets.

Activities

  1. Select the process instruction of type "inspection results request" to which you want to assign characteristics.
  2. Go to screen Characteristics/instruct. cat.
  3. To assign characteristics, choose New entries.
  4. Enter the sort number and the name of the characteristics you want to assign.
  5. Press ENTER und add a characteristic value if required.
  6. Save the settings.

Further notes

If the value of a characteristic can be assigned automatically in the control recipe or the process order, the indicator "A" (automatic value assignment) is displayed for this characteristic in the instruction category. In the field help for this indicator, you will find information on the value assignment function used for the characteristic.
