In this section, you define the process instruction categories categories you want to use in your plant. For each instruction category, you specify
- The process instruction type</ type to which it pertains
- The information transferred in the process instructions (via characteristic assignments)
When creating a process instruction in the master recipe or process order, you must assign it to a process instruction category. Thus, the settings you make here are used as a reference for the process instruction. Except for the process instruction type, you can change all settings in the process instruction.
Note
Which process instruction types and characteristics you can use depends on the target system for which you define the instruction categories.

Activities
Note on BC Sets and Transport
If you include your process instruction categories in a Customizing transport, the corresponding long texts are included in the transport request. However, the long texts cannot be included in a BC set. If you want to include your process instructions in another client or another system with the help of BC sets, you have to include the long texts manually in a workbench request and transport them separately (see Transport long texts of process instruction categories).
