Use
In this Customizing activity, you activate the integration of production orders with a Manufacturing Execution System. You define how the logical system to which the production order is automatically distributed upon release is found.
Note: If you activate the business function LOG_PP_MES_INT_02 in your system, you can alternatively distribute production orders to an MES using the data replication framework (DRF).
Requirements
You have made the ALE settings for the production optimization interface (POI). You will find these in the menu Logistics General --> Supply Chain Planning Interfaces (SCPI) --> Production Optimization Interface (POI) --> ALE Settings for POI.
Standard settings
Activities
Specify how the logical system for the distribution is to be found for a certain combination of plant and order type. You can use the placeholder (wildcard) '*' if the setting is to apply to all plants or order types.
- If you want to make the logical system dependent only upon the given parameters plant and order type of the production order, choose the determination method "Customizing Defines Logical System". Enter the logical system directly.
- If you need flexible control for the distribution of the production order, choose the determination method "BAdI Determines Logical System". The system then expects an implementation of the BAdI CO_MES_INT_DISTRIBUTION to determine the logical system from the order data.
Example
You want to distribute all production orders created in plant 0001 to the logical system ABC. Then maintain the following entry:
Plant Order type Determination method Log. system
0001 * Customizing ABC
If you have maintained several entries with placeholders (wildcards), the system always uses the entry that is specified most precisely. The specification of the plant takes priority over specification of the order type, as shown in the following example:
Plant Order type Determination method Log. system
0001 * Customizing ABC
* PP01 Customizing XYZ
* * BAdI
All production orders created in plant 0001 are distributed to the logical system ABC in accordance with these settings, including those with the order type PP01. Production orders in other plants are distributed to the system XYZ if they have the order type PP01. The BAdI for determination of the logical system is invoked for production orders that were neither created in plant 0001 nor have the order type PP01.
