(Decentralized Process Management)

Use

To get an overview of the overall scenario of decentralized process management, we recommend reading the release note Introduction to Decentralized Process Management first.

In this IMG activity, you create a new message destination in the decentralized SAP system to report process messages of the following message categories to the central SAP system:

  • Message category PI_CRST2
  • All other message categories that you want to use for confirmations to the central SAP system (such as PI_CONS, PI_PROD)

Settings in the Decentralized SAP System

  1. Choose New Entries and maintain a key and a description for the message destination.
    Note that the namespace PI* is reserved for SAP.
  2. Choose destination type Type 2 - Destination Is External Function.
  3. Enter the RFC destination of the central SAP system as the destination address.

    You do not need to assign destination-specific target fields to this message destination.

  4. Save.
