(Decentralized Process Management)
Use
To get an overview of the overall scenario of decentralized process management, we recommend reading the release note Introduction to Decentralized Process Management first.
You need specific process message categories and destinations to update the status of control recipes correctly in the central and decentralized system within decentralized process management. In this IMG activity, you copy the process message categories and destinations delivered by SAP to the plants of your decentralized SAP system as Customizing settings.
When you copy the standard message categories:
- Message category PI_CRST2: Control recipe status via order is created
- Message destination PI18: Create ctrl rec. message w. order number is created
- Message destination PI18 is assigned to message category PI_CRST: Message on control recipe status
The message categories are copied together with all their assignments (assignments of characteristics, destinations, and destination-specific target fields). You can change the copied settings in your plant. If you copy the process messages a second time, your changes will be overwritten. Additional characteristic assignments, however, will not be deleted.
The names of the predefined process message categories all start with PI_.
Requirements
You must first copy the characteristics predefined by SAP for Production Planning - Process Industries (PP-PI) to your client.
Standard settings
Activities
- Enter the target plant into which you want to copy the message categories and destinations, and choose Execute.
A list with the message categories and message destinations to be copied appears. - Choose Copy.

Note
This IMG activity does not replace the standard copying activity of predefined characteristics. You still need to carry out the IMG activity Transport Predefined Characteristics under Standard Settings as before.
