(Decentralized Process Management)

Use

To get an overview of the overall scenario of decentralized process management, we recommend reading the release note Introduction to Decentralized Process Management first.

In this IMG activity, you carry out the following steps in the decentralized SAP system:

  • You delete the assignment between message destination PI09 and message category PI_CRST.
  • You assign the new message destination of Type 2 - Destination Is External Function that you have already created in the decentralized SAP system to message category PI_CRST2.
  • You decide which additional message categories are to be sent to the central SAP system (for example, PI_CONS, PI_PROD). You delete the message destinations of these message categories and also assign the new message destination of Type 2 - Destination Is External Function to them.

Settings in the Decentralized SAP system

Deleting Message Destination PI09 for Message Category PI_CRST

  1. Select message category PI_CRST.
  2. Go to the Destinations/Message categories screen.
  3. Select destination PI09 and choose Delete.
  4. Save.

Assigning New Message Destination to Message Category PI_CRST2

  1. Select message category PI_CRST2.
  2. Go to the Destinations/Message categories screen.
  3. Choose New Entries.
  4. Enter the new message destination that you have already created for the decentralized SAP system.
  5. Save.

Adjusting Further Message Categories

  1. Delete the destinations for these message categories.
  2. Assign the new message destination that you have already created in the decentralized SAP system to these message categories.

Note that the process message categories you use and the characteristics, destinations, and target fields they contain must be the same in both the central and the decentralized system.
