(Decentralized Process Management)
Use
To get an overview of the overall scenario of decentralized process management, we recommend reading the release note Introduction to Decentralized Process Management first.
In this IMG activity, you define a control recipe destination that you want to use within decentralized process management. How you define the control recipe destination depends on whether the SAP system (to which you are logged on at the moment) serves as a central or decentralized system.
Requirements
You have defined the RFC destination for the central and decentralized SAP system.
Define RFC Destinations for Control Recipe Destinations
Standard settings
Activities
Settings in the Central SAP System
If the current system is used as the central system, you must proceed as follows:
- Choose Maintain control recipe destinations.
- Choose New Entries and enter the following data:
- A key for the control recipe destination
The key must be the same in both the central and the decentralized system. - Destination Type 2 - Download to external system, initiated by SAP process management
- The RFC destination of the decentralized SAP system as the destination address
- Save your settings.
Settings in the Decentralized SAP System
If the current system serves as the decentralized system, you must proceed as follows:
- Choose Maintain control recipe destinations.
- Choose New Entries and enter the following data:
- A key for the control recipe destination
The key must be the same in both the central and the decentralized system. - The Destination Type
- Depending on whether you want the control recipes in the decentralized system to be converted to a PI sheet or send them to an external control system via the PI-PCS interface.
If the control recipes are to be processed by an external process control system, you must enter the RFC destination of this process control system as the destination address. - Save your settings.
For general information on the definition of control recipe destinations, see Control Recipes / PI Sheets -> Control Recipe Destinations > Define and Set Up Control Recipe Destinations.
