In this IMG activity, you define your university's top or highest level organizational unit for theCampus Management system.
You must define a top organizational unit for the following reasons:
- You have to maintain an academic calendar for the top organizational unit. The system reads the dates from this academic calendar in cases where a concrete query object is not specified (program, module, or organizational unit). You must therefore maintain the entries for time limit 0100 (start and end of session) for all of your academic sessions in this academic calendar (see also: Academic Calendars).
- The system uses the company code of the top organizational unit when it creates the student account for Student Accounting.
- The SAP system uses the company code of the top organizational unit when you create a student account in Student Accounting.
When you create a student, the SAP system automatically creates the student account (contract account) if this setting is activated in Customizing for Campus Management under Campus Management Master Data -> Students -> Student Contract Accounts (Student Accounts) -> (De)Activate Automatic Student Account Creation.
You assign the company code to the top organizational unit in the Campus Management menu under Environment -> Organizational Management -> Organizational Plan -> Organization and Staffing -> Change (transaction PPOME) (see Account Assignment tab page).
Requirements
You have mapped your university's organizational plan in the system. You can create and administer the organizational plan with the SAP Organizational Management application component. You can find Organizational Management in the Campus Management menu under Environment -> Organizational Management.
Activities
Enter the object ID of the organizational unit you want to define as your top organizational unit in the entry with the group CAMPU and setting HIORG.
