Use

In this Customizing activity, you define the number ranges that are used to transfer parameters for imports and exports.

The numbers are assigned automatically from the number range interval you defined. The number range interval must be 01.

The SAP system automatically assigns a sequential number from the number range interval you defined. Every import/export receives a unique number that is taken from this interval. Example: EH&S-IMP-SUB 000000001404

This number is used to read and write the parameters in the tables TCGC0, TCGC1, and TCGC2.

Requirements

To define number ranges for transferring parameters for imports and exports, you need authorization for the number range object ESN_IMPEXP. This object is checked in authorization object S_NUMBER.

Standard settings

Default number ranges are configured in the standard SAP system.

Activities

  1. Make a note of the number range keys specified by SAP.
  2. If necessary, change or delete the number ranges contained in the standard SAP system.
  3. Define the internal number range with the number range intervals.

Notes on transport

You transport number range objects as follows:

Choose Interval -> Transport in the accounting document Number Range screen.

All intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.

Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
