Use
Regulation TSCA 12B stipulates that the following information must be reported to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency when certain chemical substances are exported from the United States:
- Name and address of exporter
- Name of substance
- Requested delivery date for customer order
- Destination country of export
- Subsection of regulation TSCA 12B
Requirements
- In the Specify Regulatory Lists IMG activity, and in the IMG activity subsections, the US must be specified as the validity area for regulation TSCA 12B.
- In the Specify Selection Criteria for Volume Tracking IMG activity, the required subsections are assigned to regulation TSCA 12B.
The standard Customizing settings for TSCA 12B contain the following subsections:
Regulation Scenario Table Field Selection Option Lower Limit
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 4A
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 4E
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 4F
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 5A
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 5E
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 6
TSCA 12B TCG81 SLSTID Equal to TSCA 7
To reduce the number of documents that are to be checked, specify further selection criteria. Note that only customer orders containing materials that come from American plants are relevant for TSCA 12B.
In the following example, the system evaluates only plants 0001 and 0002 in the export scenario:
Regulation Scenario Table Field Selection Option Lower Limit
TSCA 12B EXP VBAP WERK Equal to 0001
TSCA 12B EXP VBAP WERK Equal to 0002
- In the Check Identification Listing IMG activity, the identifiers that are to appear in the monitoring are specified in identification listing D_TSCA12B.
- The following characteristics for the substances that are to be checked are processed in value assignment type TSCA Lists (US).
- Regulatory list : TSCA 12B
- TSCA section (for example, TSCA 4A)
- Additional information: Specifies whether one-time or yearly registration is required for the substance.
- Create phrases for this information and assign these to the characteristic using the respective selected set.
- In environment parameter SVT_TSCA_PHR_ANNUAL, the phrase key that is assigned (using the relevant phrase set) to the Additional Information characteristic relating to yearly registration is specified. The environment parameter is required to determine if it is necessary to register the substance each year.
- In environment parameter SVT_TSCA_PHR_ANNUAL, the phrase key that is assigned (using the relevant phrase set) to the Additional Information characteristic relating to yearly registration is specified. The environment parameter is required to determine if one-time registration is sufficient for the substance.
- For substances that were reported to the US Environmental Protection Agency, the following characteristics are processed in the Registration (Company-Specific) value assignment type:
- Regulatory list : TSCA 12B
- Legal entity
- Registration date
- Registration country: Country to which the substance was sent.
Report RREGCH_FILL transfers this information. When notification is no longer required, the overall monitoring status changes to green.
- A specification with specification type REAL_SUB is assigned to the materials that are checked in the sales orders. The composition for this real substance is given in value assignment type TSCA Lists (US). The regulatory list (TSCA 12B), the relevant TSCA section (such as TSCA 4A) and any additional information is specified in the components. The corresponding company-specific registration is also specified. The components are not expanded any further in the hierarchy.
Standard settings
The standard Customizing settings for TSCA 12B are provided for the following IMG activities:
- Specify Scenario
- Specify Selection Criteria for Volume Tracking
- Specify Quantity Limits and Reactions on Overall Status
- Specify Functions for Volume Monitoring
- Specify Data Transfer (Property Tree)
Activities
- Process the Set Up Job for Volume Tracking IMG activity.
- Process the Specify Error Message Recipients IMG activity.
Note
The Substance Volume Tracking: Monitoring screen displays all substances with an overall red status that must be reported for the TSCA regulation.
If notification is required, you can initiate a process during sales-document tracking to avoid you having to check the monitoring every day. For an example implementation using the CBRC_TSC_LIB_EXAMPLE_PROC function module, see the IMG activity Specify Scenarios, under Specify Data Determination per Regulation and Scenario in the Starting a Follow-On Process field.
