Use

In the online checks in substance volume tracking, the system checks at different places whether quantity limits are exceeded during certain actions. Thus, a quantity limit can be exceeded if, for example, you create a purchase order, manufacturing order, or sales document for a material to which a substance is assigned that is relevant for volume tracking.

In this IMG activity, you set up these online checks. You specify the following settings for the online checks:

  • You specify how the system collects the orders and documents that are relevant for the online checks.
  • You specify how the system determines the substance quantities that are relevant for the online checks.
  • You specify how the system determines whether a quantity limit is exceeded.
  • You specify how the system blocks follow-on documents and collects and outputs messages when a quantity limit is exceeded.

In the IMG activity Activate Regulation Check in Sales you set the online checks for sales documents. You specify the following settings for the online checks:

  • You specify which function modules are called for sales.
  • You specify whether the system performs checks when saving sales documents.

If the Check a Sales Document indicator is set, then the BAdI implementation IMP_EHS_SVT_CHECK from the BADI_SD_SALES BAdI is executed.

Note the following when creating the entries:

  • If you specify a regulation in an entry, the entry applies to this regulation only.
  • If you do not specify a regulation in an entry, the entry applies to all regulations.
  • If the system finds two entries, for example, one with the relevant regulation specified and one without a regulation, it uses only the more specific entry, so in this case, the one in which the regulation is specified.

You must set up the checks in Customizing in the appropriate customer exits and Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) so that the system runs the online checks at various points. For more information, see SAP Note 905726 relating to substance volume tracking.

When editing the Activate Regulation Check in Sales IMG activity, note the following:

  • If you have specified more than one function module, these are executed according to the order that they are sorted into.
  • All function modules must have the same interface as the CBRC_EXIT_47_SO function module.
  • The function modules for the SALES scenario must exist in IMG activity Set Up Online Checks.
