Use
In many countries, regulations state that, for certain substances, you must register with the authorities the quantities of these substances that you purchase, import, produce, sell, or export. Substance volume tracking helps you to record the limit values and quantity thresholds for the registered quantities in the system and to ensure that the limit values are not exceeded. This Customizing activity describes the settings that you need to make in Customizing outside this Customizing section and in the application, so that you can use substance volume tracking.
Activities
- The regulations are stored in the system as regulatory lists. Under Specify Regulatory Lists, you create the required regulations as regulatory lists. For more information about regulatory lists, see SAP Library for SAP ERP Central Component in the Specification Management component under Regulatory List Management on the SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com.
- In the property tree for the substances to be tracked, you store the following data:
- The quantity of the substance that you registered with the authorities
- Special relative quantity limits that apply for the substance and above which certain actions must be carried out
- The condensed quantities that were determined for a substance in a monitoring period, for example, one calendar year
In the standard system, value assignment types, classes, and characteristics are supplied in which you can store this data. If you want to use the value assignment types, classes, and characteristics supplied, check the following:
- Check whether the delivered classes and characteristics exist in the classification system.
- Under Specify Value Assignment Types, check whether the delivered value assignment types exist and whether the a class with the same name is assigned to each of these value assignment types.
- Under Set Up Property Trees, check whether the delivered value assignment types are included in your property tree.
For more information about the delivered value assignments, classes, and characteristics, see the SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com.
If you want to use your own value assignment types, classes, and characteristics instead of those supplied, you must create and assign your own value assignment types, classes, and characteristics at the places named above. Under Specify Data Transfer (Property Tree) in the Data Assignment and Value Assignment Type for Condensed Quantities fields, you must also specify your own function modules that use your value assignment types.
- You must flag the materials that are relevant for substance volume tracking in the material master. To do this, create a class in material classification in the material master, and assign characteristic SAP_EHS_SVT_RELEVANT to this class.
