Use

Some of the user interface texts in CATS notebook originate from the database table CATSDB in SAP R/3. These texts include the short texts and field labels of data elements in this table.

These user interface texts are stored in the offline repository for CATS notebook in table CATS_MY_TABLE_FIELD_TEXTS. This table is defined in the file time_tables.xml and comprises the following fields:

  • FIELDNAME (field name)
  • DD_TEXT (descriptive short text)
  • TITLE (header)
  • TEXT_SHORT (short field label)
  • TEXT_MEDIUM (medium field label)
  • TEXT_LONG (long field label)

Note

If you have created customer-specific fields in the database table CATSDB, the short texts and field labels of these data elements are also stored as user interface texts in table CATS_MY_TABLE_FIELD_TEXTS.

Additional field names and short texts for CATS notebook are located in the SAP database table CATS_MY_FIXTEXT2.

Activities

The customer database table CATS_MY_TEXTS_C is available for adapting user interface texts. If you want to change a user interface text that is contained in the table CATSDB or CATS_MY_FIXTEXT2, you simply need to enter the basic object and the user interface text you want in table CATS_MY_TEXTS_C. The system gives this table greater priority than SAP standard texts.

In this way, you can adapt the user interface texts for the following objects:

  • Column headers for working time attributes (in the data entry section and in SAP picklists)
  • Column headers in customer-specific picklists
  • Texts for hyperlinks with which users call HTML documentation

Note

You can also enter texts in table CATS_MY_TEXTS_C that are not contained in tables CATSDB or CATS_MY_FIXTEXT2. These texts are not displayed in CATS notebook, but they are available offline for use in customer enhancements, for instance.
