Use
Data entry profiles enable you to configure data entry in the Time Sheet.
In this IMG activity, you set up data entry profiles for CATS notebook. For general information about data entry profiles, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Cross-Application Components -> Time Sheet -> Time Recording -> Set Up Data Entry Profiles.
In this IMG activity, you access the same Customizing object as is used to set up data entry profiles for CATS classic. Note however, that certain settings in CATS notebook have a different effect compared with in CATS classic:
Group Box General Settings
- Profile Changeable: In CATS classic, this indicator means that a user can change certain settings for the data entry profile. In CATS notebook, the indicator has the following effect:
- If you set this indicator, the user can freely choose the duration of the data entry period in CATS notebook.
- If you do not set this indicator, the user cannot change the duration of the data entry period in CATS notebook. The data entry period always has the duration you specify in the settings for the data entry profile.

The settings in this group box have the same effect as in CATS classic.
Group Box Default Values
CATS notebook only supplements the data entered in the time sheet with default values during synchronization.
Group Box Worklist
In CATS notebook, there is no worklist. However, these settings do have an effect on the picklists that are available in CATS notebook. This does not apply to the following settings (these do not have an effect in CATS notebook):
- Workdays only
- Copy without hours
Group Box Data Entry Checks
- Collision: In CATS notebook, it is not possible to enter data with clock times. Therefore, this setting does not have an effect.
Group Box For users of HR
These checks are only performed during synchronization.
Group Box Workflow
In CATS notebook, you cannot specify the workflow recipient for the approval manually. If you set the indicator Workflow approval, you must, therefore, also set the indicator Automatic recipient.
