This activity enables you to modify the possible entries help for certain fields in the data entry section of the Internet Application Component (IAC).

The system contains certain standard search helps for providing possible entries help for a field. Depending on these search helps, either the search result is displayed to users as a list of fixed values, or they can first enter search criteria to find the value they require. You can change the search criteria these users must enter by

  • Entering another search help that is available within the corresponding append search help
  • Changing the input and output fields

The fields for the Time Sheet IAC for which possible entries help is available are listed below. In addition, you can see the search help that is used as standard for these fields.

You can modify the possible entries help for the following fields by choosing another search help from the append search help:

Activities

  1. Check whether the standard search helps meet your requirements.
  2. If you want to replace a search help, find the append search help for the field in the above list.
  3. Call up the ABAP Dictionary in a separate session.
  4. In the Search help field, enter the append search help you require and choose Display.
  5. Choose Included search helps.

    All the available search helps are listed in the Search help column.

  6. Double-click on a search help.

    The system displays all the fields that are available as search criteria.

  7. In the view for the Modify Possible Entries Help activity, enter the required search help in the relevant field.
  8. Switch to the detail view for the field.
  9. Specify which of the fields available as search help (see the ABAP Dictionary ) should be used as input and output fields in the search.

Further notes

The possible entries help for the Activity type (LSTAR) and Work breakdown structure element (POSID) fields has already been modified in the standard system. You cannot therefore define your own search helps for these fields.
