Use

In this process step you set up CATS regular, the Internet application component for the Cross-Application Time Sheet. CATS regular is an Employee Self-Service application. It generates HTML pages with the SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS).

The majority of Time Sheet functions are also available for CATS regular. For more information, see the SAP Library, under Cross-Application Components -> Cross-Application Time Sheet -> User Interfaces -> CATS regular.

You determine the layout of the HTML pages in the same way that you customize the Time Sheet. You can also make specific profile settings in a view designed especially for the Internet application.

Example

Requirements

  • The SAP Internet Transaction Sercer (ITS) must be installed.
  • The CATW Internet service must be available on your Web server.
    For more information, see the SAP Library, under SAP Web Application Server -> ABAP Workbench (BC-DWB) -> BC - ABAP Workbench: Tools -> Web Application Builder for ITS Service.

Standard settings

In the user parameter CVR, specify for each employee the data entry profile to be used for maintaining data. If you do not store this user parameter for an employee, the system uses the data entry profile ESS.

Recommendation

Set up a data entry profile with the name ESS. The system can use this profile if you have not stored the user parameter CVR.

Activities

  1. If required, set up your own data entry profiles in the Create Data Entry Profiles for ESS step.

    You can make the following profile settings under General settings:
    - With target hours
    - With totals line
    - Highlight rejected records
    - Display weekdays
    - Release future times
    - Approval required
    - Immediate transfer to HR
    - Print program

    The following functions are fully supported:
    - Time settings
    - Default values
    - Worklist
    - Data entry checks
    - Checks for users of SAP HR
    - Cost accounting variant
    - Workflow

    The person selection function is not supported:
  2. Perform the Specify Additional Information for ESS Profile step to enter additional specifications for the Web settings.
  3. Perform the Define Field Selection for ESS step to select the fields in which users should make entries using the standard profile ESS or your own profile.
