In this step, you create a variant for the approval report Time Sheet: Approve Times (RCATSB01). If you integrate SAP Business Workflow, you can use the variant to determine

  • Which approval report you want to use
  • Whether a notification of rejection is sent automatically to the person who entered the data if the approval is withheld
  • Whether data is transferred to Human Resources (HR) immediately, if you use HR

If you use workflow to transfer data, you can only use the predefined variant (WORKFLOW).

Example

Requirements

You use SAP Business Workflow to approve time sheet data.

You use a report to approve time, not the Approve Working Times Web application.

Standard settings

In the standard system

  • A notification of rejection is sent
  • Approved times are not transferred to HR immediately

Recommendation

Activities

  1. Execute the activity.

    The ABAP: Execute Program screen appears. The program name RCATSB01 is already proposed.

  2. Choose Goto -> Variants.
  3. Enter Workflow as the variant name and choose Change.
  4. If you use HR, decide whether you want the data to be transferred to HR immediately.
  5. Decide whether to Send notification of rejection.
  6. Choose the program that you want to use for approval.
  7. Save the variant.

Since the variant WORKFLOW is hard-coded in the program, no additional settings are required.
