Use
Data entry profiles enable you to configure data entry in the Cross-Application Time Sheet (SAP CATS).
In this Implementation Guide (IMG) activity, you set up the data entry profiles for CATS classic . For general information on data entry profiles, see the IMG, under Cross-Application Components -> Time Sheet -> Time Recording -> Set Up Data Entry Profiles.

Activities
- Consider the requirements you want to depict.
- If necessary, copy suitable model profiles and tailor them to suit your requirements.
- If necessary, create new profiles.
- Select the options you want to use for the current data entry profile.
Example
You want to create a data entry profile with which temporary personnel at your plant are to use to record their working times on a weekly basis. This data is to be recorded without any additional working time attributes, and after it has been approved it is to be transferred to HR.
Therefore, you set up a data entry profile for single entry. To make it easier to enter working times, you enter attendance type 0800 (attendance hours) as the default value. In the Period Type field, choose type 2, which is for weekly time recording. By selecting the Approval Required option, you specify that the approval procedure must be performed.
This time sheet is configured in such a way that the person who enters the data only needs to enter his or her working hours for each day.
Note: In the Choose Fields IMG activity, you define the fields that should be displayed on the screen when the individual data entry profiles are called. This enables you to reduce the amount of data that has to be entered to the absolute minimum.
