Use
In this Customizing activity, you can define text types and text schemas and assign text types to text schemas. A text schema can be assigned for a given hosting business object (BO) node that uses dependent object text collection. You can also specify an access sequence, which will enable you to copy texts from a preceding document or a master record.
The Customizing activity is divided into 4 main dialogs as follows:
- Text Type
You can define and describe the text type that will be most useful in communicating information about master data or transaction-specific data across the enterprise.
- Access
You can specify the following parameters for each access sequence:
- Access ID: Specify a set of accesses for each access sequence
- Access Type: Select an access type based on the source of the text
- The 4 access types are as follows:
- 1. Association Navigation
- 2. Association Navigation with Node attribute
- 3. External BO
- 4. External Source
- Text Type: Determine the text type for access type 1
- Text Attribute and Language Attribute: Determine the text using these 2 attributes for access type 2
- Determination Class: Determine the text for access type 3 or 4
- Description: Describe the access
In the Details subdialog of the access dialog, you can specify the sequence in which the text will be determined and all the associations by which the text is determined.
- Text Schema
You can define and describe the text schema to be used. The Text Schema dialog contains the following 2 subdialogs:
- Text Type to Text Schema Assignment: Here, you can assign text types to text schemas. For a given text type, you can specify whether the text is mandatory, internal, or language independent. You can also specify the access sequence for the text type and a reference to the original text for each text type.
- Note: If the text is changed independently of the original text, the reference is lost. If a text type is mentioned as a reference, you must mention the source text using the access sequence.
- Assign Text Schema to BO and Node: You can select the BO and node you want to assign the text schema to.
- Access Sequence
You can identify and describe an access sequence for each text type. The Access Sequence dialog also contains the Access subdialog. Here, you can specify the set of accesses for each access sequence in addition to the language used for the access sequence.
