Attribute enhancements
Here you can insert your own attributes for an InfoSource.
PREREQUISITES
In the InfoObject maintenance in the source system, check which type of structure you are dealing with in the available InfoSource.
This can either be
- a DDIC structure or
- a view.
Take the field of the extract structure for the name and check the structure type in the source system dictionary.
Procedure for DDIC structures
Available DDIC structures
The provisions of additional fields can be realized via the function enhancement <exit_saplrsap_002. This enhancement can only be used if you access an existing DDIC structure.
Carry out the three steps given for the DDIC structure
- Enhance attributes
Attach append structure to the DDIC structure
- Maintain attributes for customer enhancements
Assign InfoObjects to the attributes
- Develop function enhancement for attributes

Procedure for views
You have the following options with a view as structure:
- Remodeling the existing view in the DDIC structure
After you have remodeled the view in a DDIC structure, you must enter the newly created DDIC structure in the field Extract structure in the InfoObject maintenance of the source system.
The rest of the procedure corresponds to the existing DDIC structure.
- Modify existing view
Attach additional fields to a view
WARNING
Your modifications could be overwritten by a later SAP Release.
If your enhancement remains a view and is not remodeled in a DDIC structure, then you only have to carry out Maintain attributes for customer enhancements.
You do not have to make any changes in the InfoObject maintenance of the source system as the system accesses the active entered views.
The actions Enhance attributes and Develop function enhancement for attributes cannot be carried out.
Therefore, in this case SAP recommends that you
- Create a user-defined view
After you have crated a user-defined view, you must change the fields extract structure and Extractor in BW for attributes in the InfoObject maintenance of the source system. Enter the name of the user-defined view in both fields.
The actions Enhance attributes and Develop function enhancements for attributes cannot be carried out.
