In this activity, you set the parameters that are valid for each archiving object in data archiving.

  • Logical File Name

    The logical file name you enter here is required for the storage of archive files in the file system. At runtime, the system converts the logical file name into a platform-specific physical file name.

  • Archive File Size

    You define the maximum size an archive file can reach during a write run as follows:

    • Maximum Size in MB
    • Maximum number of data objects

      The value that is reached first triggers the creation of a new archive file. If both specifications are missing, only one archive file is created.

  • Settings for the Delete Program
    • Test Mode Variant: Variant whose parameters are set to test mode. A test mode variant does not delete data from the database.
    • Production Mode Variant: Variant whose parameters are set to productive mode. A production run variant deletes the archived data from the database.
      • Delete program variants are client-specific. Consequently, you must make the variant settings in all the clients for which you want to carry out archiving sessions. When archiving for the first time using a selected archiving object, the relevant test mode and production mode variants for the delete program must be fully maintained.
    • Delete Jobs
      • No scheduling: You can start the delete program manually.
      Start Automatically: The delete program starts automatically when an archive file is created.
      After event: Starting the delete program when an event that you have selected occurs. If an event requires a parameter (an argument), enter the required parameter in this field.
  • Saving File in Storage System
  • Content Repository: Archive File Storage
  • Start Automatically: Archive files are stored automatically immediately after their creation. The sequence that was specified for the subsequent processing of archive files after their creation determines the time of storage:
    • Deletion Phase before Storage
    • Save before Deletion Phase
