In this IMG activity you make the system settings that you require for the following functions, for example:

  • Entering exposure amounts
  • Transferring exposure amounts (amount determination)
  • Analysis methods measured value-reference value comparison and summated rating
  • Personal exposure log (report program REHS_PERSONAL_EXPOSURE_LOG)

Activities

The activity contains the following processing steps:

  1. Specify Measured/Reference Value Category

Specify which measured value categories you require.

In risk analysis, the measured value category is equivalent to the reference value category.

  2. Specify Amount Categories

Specify for which agent properties you want to enter amounts (amount categories) and in which dimensions you want to specify them, for example, mass, concentration, and so on.

Note:

To be able to use amount determination for materials and real substances as well, you must ensure that the dimensions you use match the dimensions in inventory management in the SAP component Materials Management.

  1. Assign Agent Types

Assign agent types to the amount categories. If you want to assign a number of agent types to an amount category, enter the appropriate number of entries for the amount category.

  2. Determine Measurement Items

You must process this step so that the measured values can be compared with the reference values in the analysis methods. In the comparison, the measured values from the exposure amounts are compared with the reference values managed in the specification database.

Define which items the measured values and reference values refer to by assigning measured value categories to amount categories. The combination of measured value category and amount category forms the measurement item. Each measurement item is linked to one or more agent types via the amount category.

In order for the system to be able to read the reference values from the specification database, for each measurement item you must specify which value assignment type and which characteristic the reference value is in. You enter this information in the Referenced value assignment type and Referenced reference value fields.

If the measurement item can be determined by a person-related measurement, you must also set the Pers.Meas. indicator.

Note on reference values:

You can enter several values for a characteristic (and therefore reference value) in specification management. The user exit IHS_LIMGET and its reference function module CBIH_LB12_USEX_HAZ_GET_EPLIMIT specifies which of these values is used as the reference value for the measured value-reference value comparison. You can adapt the programming of the user exits to suit your requirements. For more information, see Manage User Exits in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Basic Data and Tools.

Note on personal exposure log:

The report program Personal Exposure Log outputs values for up to 20 determined measurement items. To specify the order of the measurement items in the output list, you must store a number for each measurement item you want to display, which specifies the output sequence. For more information, see Ranking Order.

  1. Assign Rating

The processing of this step is optional.

If you process this step, your settings are evaluated when ratings are calculated in the analysis method measured value-reference value comparison and when individual ratings are calculated in the analysis method summated rating (see below under a)).

If you do not process the step, these ratings are determined by means of the measured value-reference value comparison (see below under b)).

According to the calculation routines used in the standard system (user exits ANLS_RATCP and ANLS_SRTCP), the ratings are calculated in the following steps:

    1. Comparison of measured value with threshold value
    2. If the measured value is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the assigned rating is output as the result of the calculation.
    3. Measured value-reference value comparison
    4. If the measured value is smaller than the smallest threshold value or you have not entered a rating, the quotient is formed from the measured value and the reference value. This is then compared with the threshold you entered in the activity Specify Exposure Ratings and the respective rating is determined from this.

Enter the rating and the threshold value for each agent type if required.

Notes for Amount Determination:

You can transfer amounts/quantities from other components to the amounts of exposure for a work area using the amount determination function. This means, for example, you can transfer data from inventory management in the SAP component Materials Management or from other components.

To be able to use amount determination, you must assign a user exit to each required measurement item, which calculates the transferable values. Enter the function module for the user exit in the Function module name field. If you do not assign a user exit, you can only enter the amounts for the relevant measurement items manually.

Notes on the User Exits:

The following examples of user exit function modules are shipped for the calculation of material stocks:

CBIH_LB11_QTY_GET_STOCK_TOTAL (material stock calculation)

CBIH_LB11_QTY_GET_STOCK_IN (material receipt calculation)

CBIH_LB11_QTY_GET_STOCK_OUT (material issue calculation)

Adapt these user exits to your requirements if necessary.

If you want to determine other values (for example, measured values) in amount determination, create the relevant user exits. For this purpose, use the user exit function module CBIH_LB11_QTY_GET_VALUES as a copy template. When programming the user exit, you can use the user exits for material stock as a basis to work from.

Example:

In order for the system to be able to determine stock information for a material or real substance automatically and propose it for transfer, assign the respective measurement items the function module CBIH_LB11_QTY_GET_STOCK_TOTAL in the Function module name field, for example.

Further Notes:

You can restrict the runtime for amount determination by limiting the number of user exit calls. Here you can use the environment parameters IHS_QTY_ALERTLIMIT and IHS_QTY_WARNLIMIT. In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters, check the default values and change them if necessary. For more information, see the documentation for the IMG activity.
