Use
The XDC interface is a RFC interface between the SAP system and an external software components that can be used to convert files from one format to another.
In the application Public Sector Records Management, the XDC interface is used for printing MS documents with the SAP spool and for signing documents.
MS office documents, like *.doc, *.ppt, * are converted to the printer data stream PCL-5 postscript and documents to be signed digitally are converted to PDF.
Requirements
To use the XDC interface, you require a conversion library (subject to separate renumeration) in accordance with the XDC specification of a third-party provider.
You can find an overview of all certified libraries and third-party providers on the Internet under www.sap.com. Choose Partners -> Integration & Certification -> SAP Online Partner and Product Directory with the search option by Product Keyword "XDC" on this site.
The external conversion library must support all formats that you want to print or digitally sign (conversion to PCL-5/PS or PDF).
Standard settings
To be able to use the XDC interface for printing and converting documents, you have to configure this in the SAP system. You can find more information in OSS note 562518.
