Use
In this IMG activity, you define case types for cases (see PSRM terminology) which can contain documents already assigned to other cases. This function is only available for case types in the DOMEA environment (service provider RM_PS_SP_CASE). You can also define the assignment type when you declare documents.
Documents can usually only be assigned to one case. However if it is necessary to assign a document to a number of cases, for example for an external step, you can assign the document to a case which has a case type with the indicator In Other Cases.
The assignment type is used mainly in TNA and DoD scenarios to define where a document can be saved.

Example
In order to map an external step in the system, you want to group a number of documents from different cases in one case to be processed together. You create a case type Case: External Step and set the indicator In Other Cases. Now you can group all relevant documents in one case with the case type Case: External Step. The documents also remain in their original cases.
