Use
In this IMG activity you define the phases of a budgeting process during a fiscal year. For each phase you define a budget status here.
Normally a budgeting process runs through a sequence of various phases, such as:
- budget planning
- budget use
- budget usage
- changes to the approved budget
- budget block etc.
Each phase in budgeting is defined in such a way that only certain processes can be executed in it. In order to define these different phases, do the following:
- Define a budget status for each phase.
- For each phase you define which combination of budget category, process and budget types are allowed in it.
- Define an authorization group for each phase.
The statuses defined here for defining the individual budgeting processes are in the menu of Funds Management, under Budgeting -> Budget Control System (BCS) -> Version -> Assign Status to a Version.
If you maintain a status for budgeting, you can assign all budgeting processes to the corresponding budget types using the placeholder *. Depending on the budget type used, it is possible that * does not correspond to the same processes. For example, if you use the budget type financial budget, * refers to all statistical processes; in other words, processes such as carryforward, revenues increasing the budget and cover eligibility are not supported.
Requirements
You can only select a budget type for a process whose combinations were previously defined in IMG activity Assign Budget Types to Process.
Standard settings
As an example, SAP delivers the status STAT02 among others for the phases budget planning (transaction PREP) and entry (transaction ENTR). You can change this status to suit your requirements.
