In this activity, you define deadline variants for clearing open items prior to their due date.
Normally, when selecting open items that are always eligible for clearing, only those items are included that have a due date earlier than the execution date of the clearing program.
If you also want to include items with a due date in the future, you can define the number of days in a deadline variant.
You assign deadline variants to clearing variants in the Define clearing variants activity.
Example
Open items with a due date three, seven or 14 days in the future must also be included in automatic clearing. You would then define the following offsetting periods:
F1 - 3 days prior to due date
F2 - 7 days prior to due date
F3 - 14 days prior to due date
