Use
In this IMG acvitity, you define dunning variants.
Dunning variants are defined according to business criteria and are defined for the insurance object-partner relationship or the contract account.
Dunning variants control the dunning process, using the following criteria:
- Which criteria are to be used to include items due for dunning in a dunning procedure?
You define these settings with the assignment of a dunning grouping to the dunning variant. The delivered standard dunning groupings for SAP Insurance are defined for the individual dunning procedure types.
- Which items are to be included in dunning?
You control this transaction with the Only Include Oldest Document in Dunning flag in the Oldest Document. column.
- Should multiple dunning procedures run simultaneously for each contract?
If just one dunning procedure is to run for each contract or account, set the Only One Dunning Procedure for Each Contract or Account flag in the One DP column.
The interaction of these criteria produces the underlying dunning procedure type (individual dunning, collective dunning, and so on).
For dunning variants that are based on the Individual Dunning procedure type, you also define whether the dunning procedure is to be executed on document level or line item (item) level (Individual Dunning on Document Level flag in the Doc. Level column).
You perform assignment of the dunning procedure to the items due for dunning in the Implementation Guide, in theDetermine Dunning Proc. (FS-CD) activity, using criteria such as dunning variant, company code, product group, main and subtransaction.
You define dunning groupings in the Define Dunning Groupings IMG activity. This contains more information about the groupings delivered as standard for insurance.

Further notes
From Release 4.62, you can choose whether the dunning grouping is active for the dunning grouping or for the product group. You make this activity in the Activating Basic Functions activity.
We recommend that you set the dunning grouping for the dunning variant, as no further development will take place for the dunning grouping setting for the product group.
The dunning grouping settings for GCC dunning for the product group is not supported.
