Here you define the number ranges for the assignment of official document numbers. These number ranges are used for the generation of sequential document numbers without gaps.

The number assignment takes place internally and the number can be up to 12 figures long.

This activity is not relevant to Argentina and Brazil. Number range maintenance for official document number assignment occurs at in a different place for these countries: Cross-Application Components General Application Functions -> Cross-Application Document Numbering .

Activities

  1. Create the number ranges for the official document number assignment.
  2. Write a function module for event 1191 in order to define the number range to be used. The number object is called FKK-EXTDOC.

    Example export paramaters for event 1191:

  1. Only change the number range status if this is absolutely necessary. If you change the status ensure that all already assigned numbers are subject to this new status. Further to this, sequential number assignment is not guaranteed with a change of status.

Further notes

Transport number range objects as follows:

Choose Interval -> Transport from the initial screen.

Ensure that all intervals for the selected number range object are now deleted in the target system. Only the exported intervals are available after the import. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of the export.

Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
