Use

In this step, you integrate the correspondence tool in the various SAP application components. You create this integration by defining attributes of the application areas.

Refer to the information on the naming convention for correspondence types in SAP Note 684657.

Requirements

  • The SAP application component is registered in the correspondence tool.
  • You imported the Support Package of software component SAP_ABA, in which you performed the registration, into your system.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Assign a BTE application indicator to the application area. This indicator is used for determining application-specific modules of Business Transaction Events (BTE).

    If you solely use new BAdIs in your SAP application components, you do not have to enter a BTE application indicator.

  2. Specify how the correspondence requests of correspondence types of your application area are archived and deleted; that is, choose either mass archiving in the correspondence tool, or application-specific functions (for instance, archiving in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable using the Archive Development Kit (ADK)).
  3. If you added your own fields for the application in database table DFKKCOHI, and if you want these fields to be considered during selection in the archive for display of the correspondence history, you have to define a suitable field catalog and enter it here. Or you can use field catalog SAP_CORR_001.
