Use
In this Customizing activity you define how the system responds to errors and conflicts. To do this, you define a resolution strategy. The resolution strategy defines whether and how processes are re-executed or terminated after errors and conflicts occur. You can define, for example, the periods during which a certain error can be corrected by automatically repeating the process (RETRY).
First, you define the software components for which you want to define a resolution strategy. For this component, you can assign a resolution strategy to any combination of business processes and error categories.
A persistent mode and a transient mode are available for the resolution strategy. In the persistent mode, the system creates a postprocessing order. In the transient mode, the system tries to resolve the error, in a period that you specify, without creating a postprocessing order. You can combine these two methods so that the system changes to persistent mode after failed attempts in transient mode and creates a postprocessing order.
You define a resolution strategy by specifying the following details:
- Transient Mode:
- Retry:
- Time Interval
- Unit Interval
- Renewal
Note: Choose small time intervals (if possible only a few second, one minute at the most) Otherwise, considerable delays can occur during processing (especially if you are processing Bulk Services).
- Persistent Mode:
- Resubmission Group
- Retry Mode
- Confirm Mode
- Discard Mode
- Residence Time
- Defines how long the system repeatedly calls up a process after creation of the PPO order.
Note: You do not have to define your own resolution strategy.
Requirements
In the Customizing activity Define Resubmission Group, you have defined your own resubmission groups, if necessary.
Activities
- In the navigation structure, select the upper node and choose Create Node until the structure of your resolution strategy is set up. Each node represents a business process or an error category.
You can create a hierarchy consisting of two nodes, for example, for your combination a business process and an error category.
- On the Selected Node tab page, create a condition for each node.
- On the Selected Node tab page, create a target for the node on the lowest level and make the required settings for the transient mode and the persistent mode.
