In this Customizing activity you can define and edit condition group types. You process this Customizing activity only if you require other condition group types in addition to the ones already supplied by SAP.
You need condition group types to set up conditions that you can define in your application by using transaction Edit Condition Group.
The condition group type fulfils the following tasks:
- The condition group type groups the condition types according to their use.
- The condition group type is a more detailed classification of condition group categories.
Example
The Settlement condition group category may be sufficient for all your settlements. It may, however, be useful to structure a settlement in more detail since your corporate customers require different condition types than the private customers. In this case, the condition group types could be as follows:
- The condition group type Settlement: Customer Account for Corporate Customers contains the condition types Debit Interest, Credit Interest, and Overdraft Interest.
- The condition group type Settlement: Customer Account for Private Customers contains the condition types Debit Interest and Overdraft Interest.

Recommendation
Activities
- Choose New Entries.
- Assign a numeric key (6 figures) and a description (maximum of 25 characters)
- Select a Condition Group Category from the list. The condition group category specifies the character of a condition group type, and checks the logical affiliation of the condition types within a condition group type. The system thus prevents the combination of condition types that cannot be summarized in the same condition group type.
- Select the Buffering checkbox if required.
- Select the Correspondence checkbox if required.
- Select a reference interest rate category, if there is one in your application.
If you assign an interest reference category, then you can use only the interest references of this category when you create a condition group.
If you do not assign an interest reference category, you cannot use interest references when you edit the condition group.
- Select the entry and double-click theCondition Type.
- Choose New Entries.
- Select the required condition type from the list.
Repeat this step for all condition types that you want to assign to a group.
