Use
A lease contract item contains the material number of the leased object. Usually this material is a physical object (such as a vehicle or computer) that is described in more detail by a number of characteristics in the material master record. These characteristics in the material master record can also be used to control further processing steps in Lease Accounting.
In this IMG activity, you assign relevant data from the material master record to value IDs. When the lease is processed in Lease Accounting, the system then reads the current material master record. Based on these assignments to value IDs, the system stores the selected data of the material master record in the value IDs and makes them available for further processing.
This makes it possible for you, for example, to use different asset classes for creating the asset master record based on the material class of the material. Or you could set up different revenue or expense accounts for accrual postings based on this information.
Recommendation
You should only make settings here if further processing steps in Lease Accounting are dependent on data from the material master record.
