Use
In this Customizing activity, you enter the depreciation information for the initial creation of the asset. The system uses value IDs to assign the values to the master data fields of the asset. It overwrites the default values of the asset.
The following fields of the asset master data are available:
AFASL: Depreciation key
NDJAR: Useful life in years
NDPER: Useful life in periods
SCHRW: Scrap value of the asset
AFABG: Start date of depreciation
SCHRW_PROZ: Scrap value in %
TRANSL_DATE_SCRAP: Translation date
XAFASL: Change indicator for depreciation key
XNDJAR: Change indicator for useful life in years
XNDPER: Change indicator for useful life in periods
XSCHRW: Change indicator for scrap value of the asset
XAFABG: Change indicator for start date of depreciation

Example
Field: TRANSL_DATE_SCRAP (translation date)
In asset accounting, you are using a derived depreciation area with a foreign currency. In a subsequent process with asset transfer, the system translates the scrap value for this derived depreciation area on the posting date. This changes the scrap value of the asset. You want to copy the scrap value. You enter the date on which the original asset was posted in the TRANSL_DATE_SCRAP field. The system uses this date to find the original exchange rate.
