Use
Depending on the result of the lease classification, the system can automatically create an asset master record in the Asset Accounting (FI-AA) component. This master record can be capitalized by an acquisition posting.
In this IMG activity, you specify which fields of the asset master record receive values. It is possible to assign values to all of the fields of the asset master record from any value IDs you choose.
It is also possible to have asset master records created for the first time as the result of changes in the lease, whereby other rules for creating master records may apply. You can make these rules dependent on the particular change process, if you choose.
There are two types of data in the asset master record:
- General master data
- Depreciation-area-dependent master data
The depreciation-area-dependent master data primarily controls depreciation (for example, is it straight-line or declining-balance). You can specify this data differently for each accounting principle.
Requirements
You have to have defined the value IDs used here.
Note
The screen layout control in the asset class has to agree with the value field transfers you specify here. Otherwise the system issues error messages and automatic processing terminates. This occurs, for example, if you specify in Customizing that the Manufacturer field in the asset master record should be supplied with values, but this field is suppressed in the screen layout of the asset master record.
