Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the SAP Product and REACH Compliance component. This BAdI enables you to change functions in worklist management for the IMDS worklist. This worklist is used to support the update process to IMDS. Specifically, you can change the criteria for writing worklist entries, change the criteria for determining objects to execute, and change or adopt the function to execute worklist entries.

This BAdI provides the following methods:

  • CREATE_WL_ENTRIES_BY_CHGDOC
    You can use this method to create worklist entries for relevant changes according to change documents. A relevant change is, for example, a change or update to a composition.
  • IS_RELEVANT_FOR_EXECUTION
    You can use this method to determine the specifications that are relevant for execution. A specification is relevant for execution, for example, if it contains (directly or indirectly) the changed specification and is linked to a material data sheet (MDS) that does not have an editable version in the customer MDS center.
  • EXECUTE_WORKLIST
    You can use this method to execute the worklist entry, for example, to create a new (higher) version of the MDS in the customer MDS center if there is no version in edit mode for the product.

Standard settings

In the standard system, the Business Add-In is not activated. The default code is executed automatically.

/TDAG/CL_DEF_IM_CP_WLH_BADI_IM (default implementation for IMDS worklist)

/TDAG/CP_WLH_BADI_IM (default implementation for all standard worklists)

Requirements

In the Customizing activity Configure Worklist Management, you have activated the worklist for the BAdI implementation.

Activities

After you call the IMG activity, the system displays a dialog box where you enter a name for the implementation.

If implementations of this Business Add-In have already been created, the system displays them in a dialog box. You then choose one of them by choosing Create, and continue as follows:

  1. In the dialog box, enter a name for the implementation of the Add-In and choose Create.
    The system displays the initial screen for creating Business Add-In implementations.
  2. On this screen, enter a short description for your implementation in the Implementation Short Text field.
  3. If you choose the Interface tab, you will notice that the system has populated the Name of the Implementing Class field automatically, by assigning a class name based on the name of your implementation.
  4. Save your entries and assign the Add-In to a package.
  5. To edit a method, double-click its name.
  6. Enter your implementation code between the method <Interface Name>~<Name of Method>. and endmethod. statements.
  7. Save and activate your code. Navigate back to the Change Implementation screen.
    Note: You can also create an implementation for an Add-In and not activate it until later. If you want to do this, do not perform the following step:
  8. Choose Activate.
    When the application program is executed, the code you created is run through.

Further notes

Note the following IMDS check criteria:

  • 107    Further Upload Possible

    If the check determines a specification that has an IMDS ID but no IMDS node ID, a message informs you that the specification was changed and you can upload it again. You can use this information message to trigger a customer-specific process in task management.

  • 108    Part of IMDS Worklist

    The product structure is inconsistent if it contains a product or basic material that is in the IMDS worklist. You must execute the worklist to reset the product or basic material that was shipped to IMDS (set raw report to historical, delete IMDS node).
