In this Customizing activity, you can define and implement a viewer for generated or external documents within SAP Product and REACH Compliance. This could be required to display technical documents, such as XML files, in a form that can be read by humans. This Customizing activity is optional.
Requirements
- For documents with a specified report generation variant:
- You have made the required settings in Customizing for Product and REACH Compliance in the Specify Exits for Report Generation Variants Customizing activity.
- For documents used within a specified export type:
- You have made the required settings in Customizing for Product and REACH Compliance in the Specify Outgoing Templates Customizing activity.
Standard settings
The following viewers are defined in the standard system:
- Standard Viewer: Standard viewer for all documents in SAP Product and REACH Compliance. Providing you do not explicitly change anything, the system always uses this viewer. The system downloads the document to the presentation server and starts the viewer application that is registered for the file extension. The standard viewer ' ' is encapsulated within function module/TDAG/CP_LB13F_FILE_DISPLAY
- Viewer for XML documents: Translates generated XML documents into an output that can be read by humans. The viewer '01' is encapsulated within function module /TDAG/CP_XVWR_FILE_DISPLAY
Recommendation
Activities
To implement and use your own viewer:
- Copy the standard template function module /TDAG/CP_XVWR_FILE_DISPLAY_T of a document viewer into your own namespace.
- Implement the document viewer and activate the function module.
- Specify a new viewer by specifying an internal key, a name, and the viewer function module.
- Enhance the viewer by activating a BAdI implementation for the Enhancement of the Viewer for XML Data Files BAdI, if necessary.
- Assign this viewer to the relevant generation variants or export types.
Example
External or generated documents, such as XML files, are used in several areas in SAP Product and REACH Compliance, for example, to view a document in the report management system, in the export process, or during ad hoc report generation.
Further notes
You can enhance the document viewer by creating and activating a customer-specific BAdI implementation for theEnhancement of the Viewer for XML Data Files BAdI.
